Prerequisite At least a Credit in SPM English or two years working experience at a related industry and certifications in Nutritional Therapy, Psychological Assessment and Psychotherapy for eligibilities to General Practitioner Membership and PsychoNutritional Therapy Divisional membership

Course Layout

We use the mastery system of education. Besides lecturing, this course provides clinical experience such as: research, case study, supervision & presentation. Assessment includes case study presentations, group participation, research paper and assignments.

The topics mentioned above are taught within two half days lectures and six 50 minutes group clinical supervisions and tutorials within a period of approximately 3 months with clinical supervision & research implemented outside of classroom. During this period, students will be given assignments and projects to do.

Dr. Chan has a 18 years clinical experience as a nutritional therapist, psychonutritional therapist & psychologist in Malaysia, Asia and Europe.

Behavioural Therapy Association; a Board Certified Nutritional Therapist and Supervisor with Malaysian Association of Psychotherapy Board of Certified Nutritional Therapist, a council member of the World Council of Psychotherapy, the chief editor of the International Journal of Psychotherapy, Counseling & Psychiatry: Theory, Research & Clinical Practice; the chair of the Asian Pacific Rim International Counseling & Psychotherapy Conference 2013 and the Chair of the World Psychotherapy Conference Asia 2015. Dr Chan has been practicing, teaching and training in nutritional therapy, psychology, psychotherapy, and psychonutritional therapy for 18 years in Malaysia, Asia and Europe.

Dr Chan is also a regular contributor to national newspaper and professional journals as well as a well-known radio and television personality on nutritional therapy, psychonutritional therapy and psychology issues including the 2014 volume of the International Journal of Psychotherapy, Counseling & Psychiatry: Theory, Research & Clinical Practice. Dr. Chan has also authored multiple books on these topics including the Handbook of Current Research and Practices of Cognitive Behavior Therapy in Asia, edited by Professor Tian P.S. Oei, from the University of Queensland, Australia.
